Aug. 15th, 2008 10:44 amNote to self: Never stay up until one o'clock to watch the Olympics. Never.
Now I am so tired I can barely keep my eyes open, and knowing me, I'll probably do it again tonight. Or I might just watch the swimming and then collapse into bed. I can't continue staying up this late, even if it is the Olympics. I'll just have to settle for reading the highlights on the official Olympics website.
*sigh*
That stinks, but oh well.
In other news, The Da Vinci Code is officially making me throw the book across the room. For the first... two hundred and fifteen pages, I was interested in the story, even though I knew what was coming, and once I read their explanation, I was like... Is that what you're saying to make your idea work? Because, um, Mr. Brown, that is WRONG. That can so easily be proven to be wrong, it's not even funny. I got so fed up with him that I threw the book across the room and didn't pick it up again.
I probably will eventually, but I doubt I'll continue enjoying it. But who knows? I might. Right now, I'm only finishing it to get closer to my goal of hitting fifty books by the end of August. (I have... 16 days left and ten books to read, so it's possible I can do it.)
But anyway.
In yet more news, my dad ordered my laptop! *squeal* I should have it by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. My dad thinks it's possible I could get it tomorrow, but I will just have to see. In any event, I'll have it before school starts, which is what I wanted to begin with.
I can't concentrate any more, so I'll cut this post short. A book post might be coming later today, if I can bring myself to pick up The Da Vinci Code again.
