I know this post is going to be slightly mindless, but since I don't really know what to write about, I've decided to link you to a song and share the lyrics. And perhaps some other things, if I can remember.

First, the song I'm listening to right now is I Can Only Imagine, by Mercy Me. The lyrics are as follows, and in my opinion, the message is just amazing.

I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By Your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When Your face
Is before me
I can only imagine

[Chorus]
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You, Jesus, or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in Your presence or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine

I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine

That isn't the whole song, obviously--it's just the verses and the chorus, because it's much longer than this--but with those two verses and that chorus, it just strikes me as so incredibly beautiful. I love the way it sounds when sung, so please listen to the song. It's absolutely stunning.

The meaning of this song should be fairly obvious. To me, it symbolizes what will happen when Jesus Christ comes back for His people and brings them up to heaven. We humans, we tiny things that should only be specks of dust to Him, will one day walk by His side. We will walk by the side of our Lord and Savior, and He will love us, even with all of our sin (even though at that moment, we will not have sin any longer). It's hard to imagine what Jesus will look like, even though Revelations explains it absolutely amazingly. Like I often say--and my dad does too--if I didn't know he was my Daddy, I would be absolutely terrified of Him.

As for the chorus... it's hard to imagine what we'll do. Will we all humble ourselves before Him and just fall to our knees in praise? Fear? Love? I don't know. I'll probably be feeling all those things, and probably many others as well. I truly don't know what will happen when I find myself face to face with my Savior. I can't wait until that moment.
It will be utterly amazing. As soon as I set eyes upon Him, I will probably fall to my knees. I will be so humbled, so surprised, and yes, so afraid that I won't be able to speak.

Except... I don't really know those things.

Like the song says, I can only imagine. I can't wait until I can walk by His side and worship Him forever. It makes my heart ache to even think about it.

But, as well as that song, I've also listened to My Savior, My God by Aaron Shust, which is an absolutely amazing worship song, and The Sound of Truth by As I Lay Dying, a heavy metal song that I can actually understand. I have a very diverse taste in music, as you can see, and for the past few weeks, it seems all I've been listening to has been Christian music.

It's a common misconception that Christian music is hymn-y and boring, but that's not true at all. Christian music is one of the most uplifting, praise-worthy, and loving experiences I could ever ask for, and there is so much diversity that you are never bored.

In fact, as hard as it is to believe, I could probably follow in my brother-in-law's and sister's footsteps and only listen to Christian music and never look back.

And now there's nothing else to end, so I'll stop this post here.
