So.
I finally managed to go school shopping today. I believe I actually did very well for the money I had. I went into Old Navy and Payless ShoeSource with two hundred dollars, and now I still have about sixty dollars in my pocket to go shopping again.
I'm very happy with what I've got so far too. For paying only one hundred and thirty dollars for five shirts, four pants, one pair of shoes, and a bag, I think I did very well for myself. And in case you're interested in reading about what I got...
Here's a list of things I managed to find:
- one rosy pink American Eagle bag for carrying laptop, books and such
- one pair of American Eagle flats in silver
- These shoes were actually on sale for a mere seven dollars, so I had to pick them up. Also, Payless was running a "buy one, get one half off" sale for everything in the store, so I think I got the shoes for even less than that. Considering American Eagle is a very expensive, designer store for teens (or at least that's what I believe it is), I did very well. And for the record, those are probably the only two American Eagle items I will be able to afford in my life. They're very nice, and I'm glad I bought them.
- one printed top
- Colors include pink, black and white; it's very nice.
- one cap sleeve top in blue
- one short-sleeved top with ruffled details near the neckline in green
- one diagonally striped cap sleeve top
- Stripes are in green and pink, interspersed with white stripes between
- one hooded henley top in black
- two pairs of jeans, one lighter, one darker
- two pairs of corduroy pants, one in white and one in brown
- one 36A bra in white
All in all, I'm pretty happy with what I've gotten so far. It was torture to find things that actually fit me—Old Navy sizes sure are wonky—and some of the stuff really didn't show off the things I wanted it to show, if you catch my drift. There are some really nice things in my wardrobe so far, though, and I still have sixty dollars left to spend. I'm hoping to go to JC Penney's before school starts on Tuesday to get some "trendier" items, as well as some looser items (some of my stuff is a tiny bit tighter than I like it), so I'm sure to have lots of options.
And you should have seen my brother's face when I told him I wanted to buy more shoes. Guys really can't understand why females need numerous pairs of shoes, can they? And guys really can't understand it when I say I desperately need more shoes. I can hold off on some winter boots, sure, but I want another pair of shoes. Not sure exactly what I want yet, but I'll figure it out.
I am such a girl when it comes to shopping, honestly. I could go on and on and on about this, but I know that there are some people that really don't want to hear about this, so I'll just shut up now.

Now.
For a topic that interests more people than just the girls on my F-list.
For the past few months now, I've been tetter-tottering between Obama and McCain. There are some parts about McCain that make me like him well enough, but I like Obama's down-to-earth nature and views on foreign policy and such. However, there are some parts about McCain that I absolutely loathe, and some parts about Obama that nearly make me physically sick.
Frankly, the things that "turn me off" McCain is the fact that... well, he's too old. Now, I'm not saying that we shouldn't elect him merely because he's seventy-one. I'm saying that, since he is that old, there are a lot of things that he's not used to. Computers, for one thing. The technology that's rapidly bettering itself. The way the teens think nowadays, the way the world thinks nowadays. He's trying, I give him that. He's trying to get used to this technology-advanced age. However, it kind of worries me, knowing I've come across some articles that states he's just learning how to work a computer.
Also, he's too conservative for my liking, too pro-war. I'm pretty conservative myself, but McCain worries me a bit in his ultraconservative views. I wouldn't want to have someone get elected that might bring our country down, and that thought worries me. I don't care for him, not in the slightest although, since he's part of my own party, I'd prefer voting for him than Obama.
Obama just... I don't know. If you don't look into the issues, he seems like the perfect candidate. Smart, funny, down-to-earth, moderate viewpoints, with a nice family that would back him no matter what. The Democratic party is now backing him more than they did, thanks to Hilary Clinton's speech, and he brought someone into his campaign that has more experience than he does. Biden could perhaps help him out, at least in the experience level of things. He seems to at least have the potential to be a decent president.
However.
Some of his views make me nervous. For example,

Besides, basically all I'm saying is that there are things about both McCain and Obama that make me nervous. Personally, I don't think either of them can really help our country as much as they say they will. I believe they might make it better for a short time, but in my opinion, America's become less and less of a country to be proud of. Just my opinion.
If I was able to vote, odds are I wouldn't vote at all. Both candidates make me nervous, even the one from my own party.
And that's just my two cents. Not sure how much it made sense, but... there you go. Just wanted to write that down before I forgot.
Edit: You will not believe how hard it was to get this post working right. I don't care if there are typos, or anything. I just wanted to post this before I drove myself insane. The cuts were being annoying, the post was being annoying, so it's not good.
But I'm tired.
So... *collapses into bed* If there are problems with this post, I'll fix it in the morning. But not right now. I need bed.

None of which Obama has--they've been grooming him since 2004. He hasn't even finished out his first term in the Senate.
All he is, really, is a nice image with a lot of flowery rhetoric that wouldn't have been out of place in... well, just about every Democratic presidential campaign after Lyndon Johnson.
